Pakistani diaspora event in Vienna marks first anniversary of “Marka-e-Haq”

A celebratory and emotionally charged ceremony was held in Vienna to mark the first anniversary of “Marka-e-Haq,” bringing together members of the Pakistani diplomatic mission, overseas community, and international guests.

The event took place at a local restaurant in District 21 of Vienna under the supervision of Pakistan’s Ambassador Kamran Akhtar Malik. A large number of Pakistani expatriates, families, women, and children attended the gathering, creating an atmosphere filled with national pride and patriotic enthusiasm.

The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Manzoor Ahmed Butt, followed by opening proceedings conducted by Deputy Head of Chancery Adeel Khan Afridi, who welcomed the participants and congratulated the Pakistani nation and overseas community on the perceived historic success of “Marka-e-Haq.”

During the national anthem, attendees stood in respect and collectively joined in singing, after which the hall echoed with slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pak Army Zindabad.”

In his keynote address, Ambassador Kamran Akhtar Malik described “Marka-e-Haq” as not only a military achievement but also a symbol of national unity, faith, sacrifice, and effective diplomacy. He stated that Pakistan’s diplomatic presence had grown stronger globally and that its embassies had successfully highlighted the country’s position on the international stage.

The ambassador praised the leadership of Pakistan’s military and civilian institutions, including Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. He said Pakistan’s armed forces are among the most professional in the world and continue to safeguard national security with resilience and determination.

Speakers at the event also included Irfan Shahid, Ghulam Mustafa Baloch, Professor Shaukat Awan, and Professor Dr. Ezzat Awad from Egypt, who paid tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces and their role in national defence.

A documentary on “Marka-e-Haq” was also screened and received strong appreciation from the audience. The event concluded with prayers for Pakistan, Palestine, peace, and global stability.
